Facts about Duke

  • Breed: Great Dane
  • Color: Merle
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: X-Large 101 lbs (46 kg) or more
  • Sex: Male
Duke was found abandoned wandering the streets full of ticks and parasites and extremely thin. While that's enough to break your heart, the saddest part is that Duke is blind. We can only imagine how scared he was! His wonderful foster parents have nursed Duke back to health! Duke doesn't let blindness stop him! It took him about 24 hours to figure out the layout of his foster home. You wouldn't know he was blind! Duke is also independent in the backyard. His foster mother says he has never met a stranger. He's good with kids, adults, and other dogs. Duke has good manners in the house. He is a true gentle giant! Duke's basics: The vet estimates that Duke is about 5 years old. He will be neutered upon adoption or shortly after (with neuter contract). Duke is heartworm positive, but don't let that scare you! He is on slow kill treatment. Duke does not due well in small enclosed spaces due to his blindness. So a crate/ kennel will not work. But he is not destructive and fully house trained! Duke is located in Greenwood, Arkansas. Come Meet Our Pets...

Our rescues are scattered all over the United States in many different states. Scheduling a meeting would not be a problem. We hold many events throughout the year. You can find the latest news on our facebook page or website.

Our Adoption Process...

We have adopt fees on all our rescues. They will come fully vetted including spay/neuter. We have adoption and foster applications to fill out first, once approved u are sent an adoption contract to fill out, then invoiced and then we arrange pick up of your new family member. We do extensive background check and home checks on all of our applicants. We do have some special need rescues from time to time and that will require some prior knowledge to foster or adopt those. We will help with finding a transport if needed but mainly up to the adopter including the expenses.
