My name is Deuce! I arrived to FOA from a rescue in Saint Jo, Texas. I was abandoned by my family when they decided to move away and leave me behind to fend for myself. Thankfully Easy Street Animal Shelter volunteers found me and saved my life. I also had a friend that was abandoned with me that had to stay behind unfortunately because she was positive for heart-worm and needed treatment. I am very sad, but happy because I know that everyone here at FOA loves me and will find me the best home. I am literally the sweetest dog you will ever meet and despite everything I have been through I still have faith in people and love them dearly. I love hugs and will give out lots of kisses to everyone I meet. The FOA staff thinks that I am somewhere in between the ages of 3 and 5 years. I would be a very loyal and amazing companion for that special family who chooses me. Everyone says I am a complete HAM because I love to be loved on and want nothing more than to snuggle and cuddle and be as close to you as possible. Everyone who meets me says they fall in love. I get along well with other dogs, but at first can be a little dominant so I just need to be slowly introduced and then I warm up very quickly and love to play! i am extremely loyal to my people and am very eager to please. Small children seem to be a bit much for me, so i would do better with older children . I have been through a lot in the past few months and I would very much love a quiet home where I can be spoiled like crazy. I need a very special home where you understand my needs and can be patient. I love going on outings and meeting new dogs and people, but when I am comfortable in a home setting I become protective and need to be slowly introduced to visitors who come over. My main thing is I have been through a lot and I get very attached to people I know. i just need someone who will love me and show me that everything will be okay. I want a forever home. I am crate and house-trained and I never make mistakes. Oh and I LOVE going for car rides ! I am a little too interested in cats so a cat free home would be best for me. Please be slow with me and patient as everything is so new to me and I may take some time to adjust. I promise I am very sweet and I have a heart of gold. All I want is a family to share that with and get the same in return. I am already neutered, UTD on vaccines, house-trained, micro-chipped, de-wormed, and lymes and heart-worm tested.

Deuce's adoption fee is $325 + tax

About Friends of Animals Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

Our goal as a shelter is to reduce the number of stray pets on our streets and make sure they have somewhere safe and warm to stay until they find their forever homes. We highly encourage micro-chipping and spaying and neutering which also helps the high stray population to be reduced. Friends of Animals Humane Society is dedicated to providing care and treatment to dogs and cats located in various portions of Carlton County. We strive daily to not
only help them in a time of need, but to improve their lives by finding them their forever homes. Every animal deserves a second chance to live a happy and healthy life. The purpose of this organization is to create a humane and sustainable community for all animals, through education, advocacy and the promotion of respect and compassion.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are open from noon until 7pm on Mondays, and noon until 5 Tuesday through Sunday.Feel free to come and meet all of our pets that are waiting for forever homes! Also check out our website at www.foaonline.org for adoption events and lots of other fun things !

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process starts with filling out an adoption application specific to a dog or cat. There is a 24 hour turn around on the approval process. Once approved, a contract must be read and signed, along with health alerts. Anybody wishing to adopt from Friends of Animals must be 21 years of age to do so. Our current adoption fees for our cats are $100 + tax for kittens (under 1 year old), $75 + tax for adult cats (ages 1 to 9 years). There are usually a few longer term or older cats (10 years and up) that are $40 + tax. The current fees for our dogs vary. They can range anywhere from $175 and can go up to $500, dependent on several factors such as age, breed, size, temperament etc. All cats leaving the shelter must be in a pet carrier. And all dogs leaving the shelter must be on a leash (we do provide temporary slip leashes if needed).
