My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Upton is the sweetest little boy! This beautiful black and white boy is 4 months old. He loves other cats and dogs. He is FIV +, but can be with other cats as long as they do not fight. FIV is spread by deep wounds. He can live a long and healthy life! If you are interested in meeting or adopting Upton, please contact Andrea at (419) 481-4938

Special Notes:
Upton has an immune-suppressing virus that he carries called FIV, and thus, is more susceptible to catching illness and not being able to fight it off (due to his general low immunity). BUT WAIT -- please read on. FIV cats can -- and do(!) -- live long, full lives! There are no medicines needed, one just needs to follow standard vet care recommendations (annual check-ups for sure, and dental cleanings when advised by your vet), keep Upton indoors and feed him a quality diet. FIV is NOT transferrable to humans or dogs, but IS transferrable to other cats, mainly through a bite wound (saliva needs to enter blood stream), so it is important that if you already have a cat, or will be adding more than one, that they all like each other. FIV and non-FIV cats that get along, can share food/water bowls without issue. If Upton is your only kitty, or you have other FIV+ kitties, then of course, there is no concern. Please feel free to contact the foster if you have any questions.
