Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jeffrey is a 5 year old male poodle mix who weighs about 12 pounds. He arrived at the shelter as an injured stray, dragging his back legs. He was thoroughly examined and showed no obvious signs of trauma and had no broken bones. The shelter suspected he had a spinal injury and he came to our rescue to recover. After a few weeks in foster and a round of steroids, Jeffrey is able to walk again. His back legs are a little uncoordinated and he sometimes slips, but overall he is making great progress. While we don't know if he will ever regain full strength in his back legs, we do know that he is not in pain and is a happy guy.
Jeffrey is very friendly and affectionate with people. He just wants to be with someone. He is good with the other dogs his size but would do best in a home without large dogs or cats. Because of the issues with his hind legs, Jeffrey should also be placed in a quieter home where he doesn't run the risk of being knocked down and no small children. He is housebroken and crate trained.
