SPIRIT - Female, Coonhound mix, 1-2 yrs, 35 lbs
Spirit was the longest, consecutive resident having lived in the shelter since June 2016. She is just the sweetest little girl and loves people of all ages!!
Pupdate: Spirit is such a lovable little dog and doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She just wants to be with you and loves to give kisses. She LOVES playing with other dogs and would love a canine companion in the home. She has learned to sit on command, and is crate trained (though there are times she doesn't want to be in there and will settle after a few minutes) and sleeps quietly through the night. She is pretty much house trained and will tell you when she needs to go out. Being a hound, she follows her nose and needs a very secure fence as she will try to find a way out, over, under or through! Though listed as 5, I'd say she is between 1 and 2 years of age. She will jump up for attention but she is quite gentle and would be great around kids (6+). She arrived incredibly skinny after being in the shelter for over 6 months, but is slowly gaining weight. She is just an incredible little dog with great Spirit and would make a wonderful companion for an active person or family!!
