My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Capone Is a Prince Among Dogs, Will You Make Him Part of Your Royal Household?

Capone is an 8-year-old, large, male, blonde and black, mostly blind German Shepherd that is as sweet as can be. We don’t know how this fellow lost his sight, but he seems to get around just fine without it. Capone can see shadows, but not much more than that, but he doesn’t let that stop him. He loves his walks and playtime, and most of all, he loves to snuggle and hang out with people. He’s a very cuddly guy who just wants a comfortable home to call his own.
Capone is a wonderfully gentle soul. He’s quickly won the hearts of all the volunteers who’ve spent time with him with his friendly, outgoing, loveable disposition. And his foster said he is a total love bug! Capone is all you could want in a furry companion, he’s friendly, loving, walks well on a leash and even sleeps in his crate with no problem.
He gets along with other dogs but seems to do best with bigger dogs. This guy was a hit at a recent Pet Festival. He greeted everyone he met with snuggles, including kids! Even though he’s blind, he let everyone who walked by pet him and give him lots of hugs. And he just loved it!
Capone would do best with a family that can provide him routine and structure to help him build his confidence. Once he learns his environment, he gets around just fine, so he’ll just need a little time and patience to become familiar in a new home. But we guarantee you’ll be rewarded 10 times over with the loyalty and friendship of this wonderful boy.
If you are interested in a Saving Paws dog, you must fill out our online application to get the approval process started. We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application. All staff members are volunteers and are not compensated for their time and expenses. Many juggle family and full-time careers while volunteering at Saving Paws. Please be patient, as sometimes it takes up to 5 days to process an application.
