Facts about Declan

  • Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix
  • Color: Black
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
This handsome guy is super rambunctious when he sees strangers and other dogs, but when he's in the house relaxing all he wants is to be cuddled and loved.

Declan needs an experienced owner who is willing to walk him daily during off peak hours, or in less crowded areas and a fenced yard where he can be off-leash would be ideal.

He knows not to beg for food and is very good at being alone with his peanut butter kong during the day (after his morning walk of course) - and will definitely light up when you come home to him in the evening.

This sweet 7 year old will steal your heart and keep it protected for you.

Declan needs a home without other animals but is fine with kids and would like a nice yard to play in! He is originally from a first nation reserve and was adopted out several years ago and due to some family issues they could no longer keep him. He was well loved and would like another family to call his own.

Declan is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed Animal Rescue. The adoption donation is $375. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated as part of their adoption. Please fill out our Adoption Form if you are interested. About Grand River All Breed Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

As a non-profit animal rescue group our focus is:

To adopt dogs, cats and other companion animals into suitable homes.

To ensure that all dogs and cats placed by our rescue are spayed and neutered to ensure that we are not contributing to the pet overpopulation problem.

To promote responsible and healthy pet care, including humane training techniques and healthy diets.
to rescue animals from over-crowded shelters and the streets.

Our members are understanding and caring people who are pet owners and caregivers. They understand the care and attention that pets require but also how fulfilling (if occasionally challenging) a life with pets can be. We're not here just for the animals, but for their owners as well!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our pets are all located in foster homes and an application must be approved in order to meet one of our pets.

Our Adoption Process...

Grand River All Breed Rescue's adoption process involves an adoption application, reference checks, and discussion about the potential adoptive home, including a home visit. We follow this process as we do have a responsibility to ensure that we place each pet in a home that is suitable and committed to caring for the pet for the rest of its' life.

We match our rescues to their new homes, and filling out an adoption application, or proceeding with our adoption process does not guarantee the acceptance of an adoption application. We reserve the right to refuse an applicant for any reason, at our discretion.

Please note that once we begin an application, we hope to have it completed within a couple days, based upon availability, particularly of your references. We are just as excited to find our pets their forever home as you are to adopt!

All GRAB animal require an adoption donation. Our adoption donations help us to pay for the many costs associated with rescuing animals, including veterinary bills, food, litter and other pet supplies, and administrative costs. The majority of our animals are adopted out for less than what it cost us to rescue them, and we do not make money on our pets. All adoption donations go directly back into our account which allows us to continue rescuing animals.

Currently our adoption donation for dogs is $375 and for cats is $175. Rabbits are adopted out for $60 and are spayed or neutered. Please ask us about adoption fees for other small pets, including guinea pigs, degus, etc.

For dogs and cats, our adoption donation includes a veterinary exam, vaccines, deworming and flea treatment (if needed), spay or neuter and microchip.
