Chestnut's Story...
Looking for a great family dog with little kids? Look no further!

Chestnut is an all-around wonderful family dog. She is approximately a 40 pound, one year old female beagle boxer mix who loves nothing better than playing and snuggling. She is a medium energy dog who loves to go for walks and I have recently discovered she enjoys taking jog with me. She is fully housetrained with no accidents since she got to our house over a month ago. She likes to keep busy during the day watching her family move room to room or laying on a dog bed chewing on a toy. We think she is best suited to a young family who does not travel much since she becomes incredibly car sick even on a 20-minute ride. Her sweet, gentle manner was extremely evident to us when our 4-year-old grandson stayed with us for a week and she beyond enjoyed and endured all of his tactics.

Chestnut is located in Athens, AL and she has been spayed, micro-chipped, and is current on all vaccines and preventions for heartworms, intestinal worms, and fleas. Please fill out an application at www.forrescue.net to initiate a conversation to see if she might be a good fit for you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chestnut, a Chattanooga Beagle/Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle/Boxer for sale in Chattanooga, or seeking a Beagle/Boxer dog from a breeder in Chattanooga.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chattanooga already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chattanooga breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle/Boxer breeders who help with Beagle/Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chattanooga paves the way for another one to be saved.
