Barkley's Story...
"Hi, there! My name is BARKLEY. I'm a three-year-old Cattle Dog/ Corgi blend with stunning blue eyes and a zest for life. I'm a combination of two breeds that are quite similar, so I possess great characteristics from both: I'm intelligent, very trainable, and loyal. I'll need plenty of exercise to be at my best, just like cattle dogs and Corgis. I'd love to go on a good long walk each day, followed by a training session. Not only will training sessions be good for my mind and my manners, it will also allow me to spend time with you (my soon-to-be favorite person). After my daily activity, I'll be ready for cuddles, snuggles, and general adoration. I'm small-medium size, I've already been house trained, and I'm ready to move in to be your loving, faithful companion. I'll need to be in an adult home where I'm the only dog. Please visit me soon here at the El Cajon Animal Shelter so we can get to know each other. I'm a super dog who's destined to be a truly wonderful friend. Love, Barkley"

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Barkley, a El Cajon Cattle Dog/Corgi dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cattle Dog/Corgi for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Cattle Dog/Corgi dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cattle Dog/Corgi breeders who help with Cattle Dog/Corgi rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
