NAME: Cassandra Craft

AGE/GENDER: 3 Year Old, Female

BREED: Chihuahua, Mix

TEMPERAMENT: Sweet, Silly, Loves Snuggles

WEIGHT: 10 lbs

HOUSE TRAINING: Great, with consistency!

OTHER DOGS: Great! Cassandra loves other dogs. She likes to snuggle and play with the dog in her foster home. Cassandra would do best in a home with another dog to be her companion and guide.

CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 8 and older

HEALTH: Cassandra is sight-impaired. She has some cataracts in both eyes that limit her sight, but this doesn't stop her one bit! She gets around surprisingly well, which we attribute to her radar like ears. Cassandra is spay/neutered, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, and is current on vaccines. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as other incidental costs of care. In addition, all pets adopted from Motley Zoo come with a free 30 day trial of free pet insurance provided by 24PetWatch.

HISTORY: Cassandra came to us from a hoarding situation with over 40 dogs in the home. Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find Cassandra a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do!

NOTES FROM NAME'S FOSTER HOME: Cassandra is a very sweet little girl. She is her foster mom's shadow and likes to be involved in everything. When her foster mom is busy, Cassandra will seek out the little dog in the house for some playtime. She gets quite silly during playtime and is very funny. Cassandra loves to snuggle with both her foster mom and her dog friend, especially in front of the fire. She enjoys snuggling in her foster mom's sweatshirt while she works at her desk, too. You could say she is a bit spoiled, which is well-deserved after all she has been through!
Cassandra is sight-impaired due to some cataracts in both eyes. She can see, but it is limited. But don't tell Cassandra that, because she doesn't let her handicap stop her one bit! Cassandra gets around surprisingly well all the same.
Because of the hoarding situation that Cassandra came from, she has very little experience with the outside world. She most likely has never been outside of the hoarding house her entire life, so everything is new to her, and a bit scary. Her foster mom is helping to socialize her with new experiences, to expand her understanding of the world. It's all a little scary to her, but Cassandra is doing great with learning how to walk on a leash and she is slowly becoming more curious about the greater world. Anyone adopting Cassandra would want to continue working on Cassandra's socialization. Her foster mom has enrolled her in a confidence dog training class to help her overcome her fears with the unknown.
As Cassandra is use to always having dog friends around her, she takes great comfort from having a well-balanced canine friend in her home to help show her the world is not a scary place. Cassandra would do best in a home with another dog who can act as her role model and playmate.
Despite the horrible situation that Cassandra came from, she has the sweetest disposition and is a total love. This leggy little deer would love nothing more than to find a loving home where she never has to fend for herself again. Do you have a warm lap for Cassandra?
All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and Martingale collar (or a harness, if necessary), depending on each dog's particular needs. We also send home additional flea treatment and deworming medication for your future use.
Motley Zoo Animal Rescue is a volunteer run, foster based, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization based in Redmond, WA. Motley Zoo does not have a traditional shelter location, but instead, utilizes private foster homes which care for the animals individually, in a home environment, until a "furever" home is found.
Motley Zoo also runs "Rock Star Treatment" Dog Daycare & Training Studio in Redmond, WA which is a day-use facility and does not hold kennels of adoptable animals. The dogs there are owned animals who come to the facility while their families are at work and school so they can play and socialize in a safe environment. We dub this service our "Year-round" fundraising program which helps us support our rescue animals and the $15,000/ month vet bills we incur. This Studio location does have an Adoptable Cat Lounge, where cats may live until adoption, which is the exception to any aforementioned rules.
Please email and request an adoption application so we can get you started on the journey to finding a new, furry friend! Once you have been approved to adopt, then we can set up a meeting with the animal you have been matched with.

About Motley Zoo Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a an ALL volunteer group, including our executive director who does this full time, unpaid- approximately 80-100 hours of work. We do this because we love these pets and we need to be their voice- to take their best interest to heart, no matter the challenges and difficulties. We love these pets like our own- literally we dedicate our lives to them!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Check out our website for adoption events- there is a calendar on the right, event dates in red.

Our Adoption Process...

We have an adoption application required before meeting our pets, which includes an application, pictures of your residence and a piece of mail to corroborate the address.

We will process the application as it is received, usually taking a business day or so- this time is variable based on the current demands placed on our volunteers, which may be specific per pet.

We will contact you to tell you you are approved, and will arrange to set up a meeting with the pet of interest!
