My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE 2/28/17: LADY IS READY TO FIND A HOME!! Her puppies are old enough to find their own forever homes now, so it's Lady's time to shine. She is a super sweet, quiet girl around 11 months old now.

ITS RAINING PUPPIES!! MEET OUR NEWEST LABBY FAMILY: LADY AND HER PUPS!!
Lady was found running around as a stray, very pregnant and very scared. After many attempts, a very nice woman was able to bribe Lady with food, catch her, and take her to safety. She then took her to the vet for check up, and fed her until help could be found. In the meantime, Lady gave birth to 10 beautiful puppies, most black and a few chocolate in color. LFS was contacted and Lady and her family were safely transported to our vet.

While Lady is doing her best to be a good momma, she is still frightened and unsure of what’s going on right now. Our vets say they estimate her to be about 10 months old, meaning Lady is still technically a puppy herself. During a time when her body should’ve been focused on finishing growing and maturing, she had to switch all her attention to taking care of 10 babies, so she is understandably exhausted as well. We hope that as we build more trust with Lady and give her time to settle in over the coming days, she will relax more and become more comfortable.

Lady’s puppies were born on Monday, so they are now almost a week old. All of the puppies are happy, healthy, and doing well. There are 6 boys and 4 girls in the litter. The lovely staff at our vet’s office have sure been busy taking care of this not-so-little family for us!

Lady and her puppies will remain at the vet for some time to ensure that everyone continues to do well. Unfortunately, caring for a not-so-little family like this can quickly add up in cost, so we would be greatly appreciative for any and all donations that our wonderful followers may find in their hearts to provide for us.

If you are able and would like to donate to Lady and her babies’ care, please visit http://www.labradorfriends.com/2017/01/21/lady-pups/ or go to http://www.labradorfriends.com/donate-2/.

Thank you in advance!!
Lady and her puppies will be available for adoption when the puppies are old enough.
