Alec is a male Maltese/Poodle mix approximately 2 years old. He has a bright white coat of wavy curls that are super soft. Alec has been professionally groomed and is non-shedding. He is a very manageable size, weighing 14 pounds full grown. Alec is a shy boy and would love an owner who is patient and gentle with him. He doesn't know who he can trust and is somewhat hesitant because of it. He came into a high-volume/high-kill shelter extremely neglected and completely uncared for. Alec was found as a stray, but if anyone ever owned him it was a long time ago or they just didn't care. Despite this, Alec is as kind and as tender hearted as they come and we know that once he bonds he will be a loyal and devoted companion. He wants affection and love in his life and is starting to understand simple commands like "come", where he is immediately rewarded with a treat when he successfully understands. He loves treats. Alec is already blossoming into a playful dog, interested in other dogs and with a bouncy, perky side to him. He follows other dogs around, watching what they are doing and then copying them. We think he might like another canine companion his size in the home to help show him the way. He is a truly beautiful boy and a diamond in the rough. Alec will thrive in a calm, stable home where he can learn how nice it is to be loved and cared for. He won't do well in a household with lots of commotion or younger children because he will just be too shy. Alec is a smart dog with a quick attention span and very observant of what is happening around him. He is deserving of a real home to call his own and will reward his new owners with devotion and gratefulness. Alec is healthy and ready for his new forever home today!
Alec’s adoption donation is $450 (*TAX DEDUCTABLE). He has been NEUTERED, MICROCHIPPED, VACCINATED, DEWORMED, DEFLEAED and PROFESSIONALLY GROOMED. Also included is his collar with ID, harness, leash, folder with all of his records, a great PETCO coupon book, and a fun goodie bag with toys, etc.
Alec is being fostered by Pet Match Rescue Foster Volunteer, Mary B. and is ready for his forever home.
