My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When Ivory's rescuer walked down the aisle of the dismal Texas shelter, she was shocked to see the terrified yet adorable (and filthy and so sad-looking) Ivory tucked tightly into a cage...her time was up. Farfel's Rescue immediately got a call describing how incredibly cute and sweet this tiny Westie/Yorkie mix is..and the need to save her life. We immediately agreed and Ivory became a very treasured Farfel's dog. She earned a ticket to a wonderful new life in Colorado with her sweet personality (although initially a bit shy..who wouldn't be?) and her kind attitude toward the world. At just about 2 - 3 old and a perfect lap-size of 7 lbs, this beautiful girl is a blank slate waiting for positive input and guidance to be the best adult dog she's capable of being.

We'd love to match Ivory to a family that will spend lots of time with this very portable pup..she will fall completely in love with these special people and there's no more loyal companion around. She's a perfect size to accompany her family just about anywhere...and would love it.

Ivory has gotten a ton of hugs and attention at the shelter..and pretty much everywhere she goes. You immediately know she's sweet...and just a touch fragile and vulnerable right now. It's clear that she hadn't been properly cared for in the past and we can't wait for a great individual or family to make her the diva she should be. After some great nutrition and a spa day, Ivory will be a beautiful and fuzzy white teddy bear (with the cutest ears around).

When Ivory turns her gentle (yet very wise) look in your direction, you can't help but smile at her soft gaze and adorable ways. You can see just a touch of a sign that this young dog has had difficult times. But not for her to be negative..a smile and a wag is more Ivory's style.

Farfel's Rescue is searching for an adult family for Ivory ...it's not that she doesn't like young kids...we just feel she'll be more comfortable and settled with adults. A retired couple or individual would be perfect for this beautiful girl. She would thrive on the time and attention that she could share. Ivory is a very loyal and positive-minded dog..that makes her easy to spend time with just enjoying the wonders of life in Colorado.

Ivory would also enjoy time with dogs of similar size who could be gentle playmates. When you're only 7 lbs, even a very well-adjusted pup can be intimidated by larger, rambunctious dogs.

Ivory appears to be shed-free dog (although we can't swear to it) and is a combination of two non-shedding breeds. She therefore will require periodic grooming and great nutrition (a salmon oil supplement would be great) to keep her potentially cotton-soft hair healthy and matt-free.

Farfel's has requested that Ivory be spayed prior to her transport to Denver. This may or may not occur. If it does not, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Ivory's spay and microchip upon her arrival in Colorado if our Denver vet is used.

Ivory will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 2/11/17. Meet and Greets are currently being set up and applications are being accepted. If interested in this loyal and sweet...and often very entertaining companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
