My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The Terrier mixes are a perfect combo for those who are searching for an extremely sweet and loyal family dog. Of utmost importance...these breeds are famous for their temperaments, intelligence and very loving ways. They're also known to be trustworthy and very loving with family members and other family pets. Since this breed mix requires a certain amount of exercise and absolutely love being with their people...if a hike or outdoor fun is the order of the day - count them in! These guys are known to run joyfully and energetically through the Colorado mountains...and then crash on the couch snuggling close to their favorite humans and canines.

Blaze is a beautiful and engaging guy who favors the intellect, silliness and fun of the Jack Russell while taking on the very engaging qualities of the Cairn Terrier. Blaze will require periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition to keep his coat healthy and cottony-soft. As he loses the old coat of his shelter days (as he's given the gift of a great diet), Blaze's coat will grow in shining and far less likely for lots of shedding.

Blaze's sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated...he makes playmates everywhere he goes. He is social and that means everyone he meets has the potential to become a friend. You know when a loved one approaches, Blaze's tail starts the greeting and it wiggles up through his body ending in a smile. And if a place is available next to a favorite family member, up Blaze goes to cuddle and snuggle and let you know the level of his devotion.

Blaze is such a wonderful being...we think he represents the best qualities of his breeds. At just about 2 years old and 14 lbs, Blaze is a great little guy who has left puppyish habits behind while blossoming into a sweet and engaging pup who loves kind humans and gentle dogs with all his heart . Blaze seems to have completely left behind the lack of love and committment that made up his early life. He has become a very huggable ball of good-will that loves to please - the happier his family is with his behavior, the more he shines with his accomplishments.

We would like to see Blaze in a home that includes him in family time and activities...he's very social and would thrive in a family that truly loves him and considers him a very important family member. Blaze would be an exceptional best friend for retirees or families with older, dog-loving kids who have the time and desire to be best friends with an adorable and loving little guy. Blaze doesn't require another dog to be happy (he really loves his people)...but does enjoy his canine relationships with fun and gentle dogs.

Farfel's has requested that Blaze be neutered prior to his arrival in Denver. We're not optimistic that this will occur due to too many dogs and not enough vets in this area of Kansas. If it doesn't, we'll be happy to cover all costs for Blaze's neuter and microchip if our Denver vet is used.

Blaze will be arriving on transport in Denver on Friday 2/10/17. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If you're interested in this sweet and engaging companion, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com, fax to 303-443-7730 or mail a hard copy to Farfel's Farm 906 Pearl Street Boulder, CO 80302.
