Ivy's Story...
Hi, I am Ivy. I was roaming the streets with 2 other dogs for several weeks. This nice lady began feeding my friends and I, and then I became pregnant. I moved my puppy from the drainage ditch to under that lady's house. The lady continued to feed me, and I began to trust her. Once my puppy began walking and was venturing out from under the house. The nice lady put me on a leash, swooped up my puppy (Margie), and brought us inside.

I am very friendly, and just want to be loved. I roll over on my back for belly rubs. I have learned "sit", "kennel" and I am learning to walk on a leash. I take some time to trust new people but once I do, I am a lovebug. I am good with most other dogs, and I am learning to not chase kitties. Do you need a new furry companion? I would love to be that dog.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ivy, a Houston Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever for sale in Houston, or seeking a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Border Collie/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
