Levi's Story...
Sometimes the most brilliant and beautiful personalities can be found in the most average looking dogs, like our friend Levi. Levi is about 2 years old and this magnificent mutt came to us from our Newark facility when he was found as a stray. You wouldn't believe how shy and scared poor Levi was initially and we still can't believe he's the same dog that was hiding in the corner of his run when he arrived. Levi burst out of his shell and remembered that he simply loves people, and never wants to be without them again. Levi does not have a bit of shyness about him any longer. He is incredibly friendly and just the most sweet and affectionate dog. It's difficult to walk him at times because he just wants to twist around between your knees so he can gaze up at you and hope that you pet him and love him forever. Levi is very puppyish and unsure of some things. When he takes a treat, he immediately drops it, then plays with it before eating it. He is excited about toys but doesn't quite know what to do with them. Levi is excited to see other dogs and seems to be fine with them, and he is great with people of all ages. He would make a wonderful addition to any great family. File#26947 12/19/16

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Levi, a Forked River Mixed Breed (Medium)/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mixed Breed (Medium)/Labrador Retriever for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Mixed Breed (Medium)/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mixed Breed (Medium)/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Mixed Breed (Medium)/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
