My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There's no question that Oslo could be that dream come true puppy for active retirees who love spending their time with a kind and loyal guy who is a full-time best friend. Oslo would also do great with gentle dog-loving kids who enjoy the fun that a sweet little dog brings to a family. We'd prefer older children as part of Oslo's family not because he doesn't care for young kids, but because he weighs only about 10 lbs at 8 months old (with a full-grown weight anticipated at approximately 12 - 14 lbs) and we want to make certain he's handled gently and respectfully. We wouldn't be open to a home where everyone spends their days working full-time outside of the home....we'd like Oslo to get more time, attention and training than is possible with that lifestyle.

We feel that in order for Oslo to become a well-behaved and well- socialized adult companion dog, his new family must make a commitment to puppy kindergarten followed by a positive reinforcement group obedience class. The dogs that complete this training regimen are always better behaved and more bonded to their family. Farfel's is happy to share the names of a positive reinforcement trainer in your area.

Oslo's sad story is all too common when arrangements aren't made to insure that a dog has a responsible home if they should pass away. Often these dogs end up in an overcrowded high-kill shelter where their safety is uncertain. This would have been the case for Oslo if the dedicated New Mexico rescuers hadn't stepped in. Their goal is to do the best they can to make certain that these at- risk dogs (that ace their temperament testing) are brought to safety. Farfel's Rescue was contacted about Oslo immediately and asked to search for a great family who will love this little guy deeply and forever. We are so happy to help little Oslo find his perfect place in the world.

When you meet Oslo, you have to be touched by his beautiful face with the sweet, trusting eyes that speak of intelligence and a love of fun. Oslo also has an adorable manner and a desire to bond with anyone who is kind and offers him positive attention..and a belly rub is awesome! He will then want to be a best friend and before you know it... he's loving you with a wagging tail and a puppy kiss. The awesome New Mexico rescuers recognized Oslo's great temperament and knew that there was a home out there that would love, respect and make this little guy a permanent member of their family.

Oslo is a non-shedding guy (considered to be one of the most hypoallergenic breed mixes available) and will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his cottony-soft coat healthy and matt-free.

Oslo will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 2/11/17. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If you're interested in this sweet and silly best friend, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
