Gardner is a Brittany Spaniel mix of about 6 months. He presently weighs 21 lbs. and will mature to 40. His medium coat of red and white is beautiful. These are the physical facts about Garfield, but there's much more to know about him and his brother, Garfield (also up for adoption). Garfield and Gardner both need a lot of TLC. They had been pulled from under the porch of a dilapidated house, and they were really frightened. They still are. After all, they had been born under that porch, and they were sheltered there. Out in the world, they had no reason to believe that they'd be with friends. But they are with friends here in rescue where everyone takes a bit of time each day to quietly sit with the boys, letting them know that they won't be hurt, letting them know that they're here to chill and relax and maybe roll a ball or two. They do love to play ball, and they love toys, too. But they won't be ready yet to play with small children who may unintentionally frighten them. These are two boys who need true saving; they need families who will give them time to be convinced that being under a porch isn't all there is to life. (posted 2/5/17, ME, N/A)
