Facts about Little Boy

  • Breed: Appaloosa/Quarterhorse Mix
  • Color: Chestnut/Sorrel
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Medium
  • Sex: Male
So Little Boy came in with Pretty girl, They were both in poor condition and half starved. He has made a great comeback and is ready for more training. He is around 3 years old and still needs to be gelded. He will allow a halter and a blanket to be taken on and off of him. He has had some ground work and seems to learn quickly. The people he came from said he was gelded, but we found out they didn't finish the job. He is ready for someone who wants a project.

About FUR and FEATHER Animal Assistance, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

We are in a very rural county in western New Mexico that had no animal control at all until we started trying to make a difference in the fall of 2003. Early in the spring of 2006 we became incorporated and we have now had our non-profit status for 7 years. We concentrate on rescuing lost and abandoned animals and helping out when people die or become incapable of caring for their pets. Our biggest focus is neutering everything that passes through our hands.
By the summer of 2014, we have been able to spay and neuter over 1500 animals. We sometimes have puppies and kittens but specialize mostly in adult dogs and cats, all spayed, neutered and ready to go. Here at Fur and Feather you will find that we pride ourselves in rating these animals for their ability to be with children, cats, horses, other dogs and poultry. The biggest hurdle we are always facing is getting enough funding to keep things going to take care of the nearly 300 dogs and cats in our care. We gratefully accept donations of food, bedding, toys, fencing materials ,cash and almost anything that can eventually be used here.We are always happy to make appointments for visitors as we love for people to see our facility and meet our animals. Happily, we are making a difference one critter at a time.Come out and see us in 2014!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our available animals are housed here in western New Mexico at our growing facility in Pie Town. We are happy to e-mail detailed photos and do consults on the phone. We look forward to placing these animals in loving homes and will do what it takes to help make that happen. Our adoption fees vary slightly with each animal depending on their age. We are a privately owned facility and we show dogs and cats by appointment only. Please call us and we will help you find the perfect pet for your lifestyle.

Our Adoption Process...

Most importantly we do have a policy that assures you can return an animal to us if things are not working out. We want to make sure that all is a good fit. Since every situation is unique we try to work with each individual to find a good match. We ask for reimbursement of the regular veterinary expenses we have in the animal and that is what brings us to our adoption fees. Our primary goal is finding homes but we really need the funding so we can continue on.
