Hello world!

I’m Ashley, a gorgeous Black Mouth Cur / Pitt Bull or maybe even Hound mix, so they say. I’m 4 years old and weigh 55 pounds.
I was dumped in the woods together with my puppies. That area is a pretty bad part of town, known for many roaming and abandoned pets. Luckily, those rescue ladies sighted us and came to feed us every day. It didn’t take us very long to trust them and one day they just scooped us up, right into their car and off we were to a better life. Also known as ‘Freedom Ride’ in rescue terms.

I’m well behaved inside a home and prefer cuddling up in a soft blanked over hiding in the woods any time. I'm a happy girl and love to interact with people. Cats however are not my favorite companions and I still have a hard time welcoming strange dogs. My foster mom said, that I would do best in a home with older children and no other pets, especially cats. I have a high prey drive and although I have lived with many other dogs in my foster home, I would do best as an only dog.

I came a long way but have learned quite a bit too. Yes, I’m proud to say that I’m crate and house trained, walk well on leash and know basic commands. I’m a laid back type of girl and a true cuddle bug. Yes, I love to be affectionate with my human and give kisses…lots of kisses and those belly rubs I just cannot deny. My second favorite thing to do is play with squeaky and soft toys. I’m quite intrigued with those. So, if you are love starved (I have plenty to give), looking for a loyal companion (I promise I will never leave your side), have no other pets in the house and can give me one or two or maybe even three toys then we are a match made in heaven.

We are a street dog rescue in Houston, Texas seeking to place rescued dogs in loving homes across the US and Canada. Our region has more homeless animals than homes, so we look outside of our area for adopters.

About Corridor Rescue Inc. - Pittsburgh Transports

About Our Rescue Group...

Corridor Rescue Inc. is an all breed 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable animal rescue organization on a mission. A mission of mercy, rescue and awareness. A mission to save lives and correct an injustice to animals who have been thrown away and left, often times injured and starving, to fend for themselves in the Hwy 59 and Little York area of Houston - apparently the dividing line for the county and city Animal Control. Its about a mile strip of road dubbed the "Corridor of Cruelty". Veer off to the left or right along any point and see the same everywhere - abandoned and starving dogs, in pain and suffering. Here, trash and animals are discarded without thought on a regular basis. We're not talking about a handful of animals, but hundreds of physically and emotionally damaged animals in the fight of their lives to simply survive another day.

Started by one person, Corridor Rescue has grown its team of volunteers, from all walks of life, united in an effort to help this community of orphaned animals in desperate need of help. We work to rescue hard to capture dogs and cats; to rescue and rehabilitate diseased and injured dogs; to facilitate the rescue of animals mainly from the Corridor of Cruelty but also from other areas of Houston; to educate about spay/neuter and animal cruelty laws.

Success happens everyday yet we know that our fight is far from over

Our Adoption Process...

We require all potential adopters to complete our pre-adoption application. Please contact corridorrescue@gmail.com with inquiries, or visit our website to fill out our online adoption application - www.corridorrescue.org

After review of your application, a rescue volunteer will contact you. We will check veterinary references on all current pets or any that you have had in the past 3 years. We conduct a home visit by appointment to meet family members, other pets, and to evaluate home safety conditions. If we feel the potential adoption is a good match for the family and the pet, then we proceed with placing the animal on a "trial adoption". We want to be sure that your new pet is right for you!
