Michelle's Story...

Meet Michelle, an 18 month old Australian Shepherd mix who is a very sweet and loving girl.  She is shy at first, but give her a few minutes and she will be by your side looking for some belly rubs or ear scratches.  Michelle came to us as a young mom with nine beautiful babies, her babies have now been adopted and she is ready to find her forever home.

Michelle did test heartworm positive and has undergone treatment, she is currently on leash restriction, but it doesn't seem to affect her since she loves to go outside and come back in so she can be with her family.  She is house and crate trained.

Michelle's adoption fee is $200.00 which all vaccinations, heartworm treatment, spay, microchip and 1 month of heartworm preventative. If you are interested, please complete the   Adoption Application  on our website at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Michelle, a Hillsboro Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Hillsboro, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Hillsboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hillsboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hillsboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hillsboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
