Dob per owner of mom Dec 23 so they are almost 7 wks now all weigh 8lbs to 13lbs already so they will be large dogs as adults. The first male arrived Friday, the remaining three on Sunday. So the vaccine dates are different. The family had to catch them since the momma dog had given birth outside. Mom is a lab border collie dad could be from the description's of male dogs could be Greater Swiss or Bernese mountain, Catahoula, but most of the pups have brown marking around the face legs. They can start going to adoptive homes in March

Most available pets for adoption start in foster care in KY/TN. This allows for time to start each animal on a vetting schedule ie de-wormer, vaccines, vet apts. This is for the animals health & well being.
This rescue has two forms of adoption and animals are posted where future foster homes may be. Direct adoption which is once an animal had been out of the shelter for 2 plus wks has two or more 5 way vaccines and your able to meet transport and take the pup home. Meet n greet adoption is IF the pet is not adopted first and arrives in foster care up north. This will occur once all vaccines, vetting and willing foster home is available. Transport takes adopted pets first from all agencies so availability depends on the transport companies open spots.

Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Greater Swiss Mountain Dog for sale in Waterbury, or seeking a Border Collie/Greater Swiss Mountain Dog puppy from a breeder in Waterbury.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Waterbury already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Waterbury breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Greater Swiss Mountain Dog breeders who help with Border Collie/Greater Swiss Mountain Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Waterbury paves the way for another one to be saved.
