Joan of Barcs, is a very sweet 2yo little pittie mix, who came from the BARCS shelter in Baltimore. Joan was found underweight, (and with bite wounds) wandering in a yard in the city. She weighs about 38lbs at this time.
Joan became a staff favorite at the shelter! When it was time for her to go to a rescue, a number of people came forward to help sponsor any medical costs for her. Joan really seems to like other dogs, as well as playing with toys in a yard and interacting with humans. She walks very well on a leash and we think this sweet little pup deserves loving people who will enjoy her wonderful personality!

About Adopt a Homeless Animal

About Our Rescue Group...

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are a rescue that is dependent on volunteers as we do not have a physical building. Thus, our dogs are in foster homes, so if you would like to meet one of our dogs please contact us to make arrangements. Thanks!

Our Adoption Process...

An approved application, vet reference, personal reference check and home visit are required to finalize an adoption. Also, there is a $175 adoptiong fee/ donation to help offset some of the expenses relating to vaccinations, spay / neuter, feeding, boarding and miscellanious veterinary costs.
Adoption fees are used to continue to help homeless animals in need!
