My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

IDGSR WELCOMES NIKON INTO THE SAFETY OF THE RESCUE!!!

Nikon came to us when he was discarded like so many dogs in the south are. This chronic epidemic here that shows no end in sight is beyond frustrating. We do not understand why and never will. Nikon is a typical male German Shepherd. He is a big boy. He is a calm, easy going boy and we'd like to see him go to a GS experienced home because he has some typical GS characteristics that we feel those who have had male GS's before would understand. Nikon doesn't like to be forced to do things. You can walk up to him and take him by the collar and he goes just fine, no problem. He is willing and happy to do so if you are respectful and polite to him. He is housebroken and crate trained however he will counter surf if given the opportunity and I'm sure will grab things like a loaf of bread or other goodies within his reach. He's tall and long so a full countertop is not a challenge in any way.
He has some decent manners and is friendly with the majority of dogs (not cat tested nor small child tested) but he was more than annoyed with a bratty shepherd mix who was irking him repeatedly. Nikon is a gorgeous Big Bi-color male German Shepherd who respects his person and he loves to be loved on.

If you are interested in Nikon, please fill out an application on our website by copying and pasting the link below and we will call you.
