Cleo's Story...
Cleopatra nicknamed Cleo is a 1.5 year old basenji mix. She got her name for the adorable black around her eyes that looks like egyptian eye liner. Cleo is the perfect size...not too small and not too big. She weighs 30lbs and is a low shedding dog. She just can't get any cuter with her black points' 4 white socks, and curly tail. Cleo is house trained, crate trained, and a low maintenance dog. She loves getting attention and cuddles, but is not demanding of your attention every second you are home. Cleo LOVES other dogs of any shape or size and is very submissive. She loves to play with dogs so I would prefer her to have another doggy companion or a home that likes to go to the dog park. Cleo loves car rides, to play fetch, to swim, bask in the sun and go on walks. She is good with all people...though occasionally somewhat shy with new visitors, but warms up quickly. Someone snap this all around amazing girl up! You could not find a better dog. Her adoption fee is only $150 and she will be up to date on everything and is spayed. Someone should give this pretty girl a home forever!! You will not regret it!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cleo, a Gainsville Basenji dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basenji for sale in Gainsville, or seeking a Basenji dog from a breeder in Gainsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gainsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gainsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basenji breeders who help with Basenji rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gainsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
