**Hazel is currently being fostered in Houston, TX. She is available for both local adoption and out-of-state adoption to an approved family. Her local adoption fee is $300 (with pick up in Houston). She is fully vetted and amazing.**

Our beautiful Hazel found herself as an owner surrender at a local high kill shelter when her family moved and decided not to take her with them. She sat dejected at the shelter for two weeks waiting for them to come back for her. The second we saw her sad shelter video, we could not get there fast enough to bring this amazing girl to safety.

Hazel is a roughly 50 pound Staffordshire. She is around 2 years old and fully grown. She is an ACTIVE and strong girl, who needs a family who understands that she is energetic, MUST receive daily exercise, and proper mental stimulation. She is a strong girl, but is a total love bug who loves to run and play, watch the trees for squirrels, and then snuggle on the couch with her foster dad.

She is good with other dogs that match her size and energy, but her eagerness to make friends could be a bit off putting to a very calm dog. She has a high prey drive, so we would not advocate her living in a house with feline siblings. She is great out and about in public and loves to go for rides in the car. She is kennel and house trained.

Hazel's ideal family will understand that dogs can take time to acclimate to their new home and life, which could include having accidents, crying in the kennel, and just adjusting in general. Hazel's family will also be adding her to their family to be an integral part of their life and planning to keep her as an inside pet. She should never be left alone unattended outside for extended periods of time - for example the entire workday.

Hazel should be adopted by a family who plans to keep her inside as a member of the family. We do not adopt dogs out that will be kept as outside dogs.
Hazel is fully vetted (spayed, microchipped, vaccinated) and has no health or
allergy issues that we are currently aware of.

The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an application via our website If you hover over the adoptables tab, the link to the application will appear.

About Reggie's Friends- Austin

About Our Rescue Group...

Reggie’s Friends was founded out of our love for helping dogs. Living in a city of 1.2 million homeless animals, there was rarely a day when we didn’t see a dog in need of help. Instead of just wanting to do something, we figured out how to do something! Reggie’s Friends is dedicated to the health and welfare of dogs in and around the greater Houston, TX area. We focus our attention on helping shelter dogs, street dogs, and dogs who have been abandoned in boarding facilities find loving, forever families.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process begins with an adoption application and a home visit. Once an applicant is approved, an adoption contract and fee are required before the dog can join their new family.
