Facts about Chilo

  • Breed: Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Collie Mix
  • Color: Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut - With White
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Chilo is a handsome, six year old Sheltie/Collie mix. He is very sweet and gentle and loves all people! Chilo especially loves children. His mom no longer has enough time to spend with him, so he is looking for someone to take him for rides in the car, to the dog park, and on playdates to socialize with other dogs. He was rescued three years ago and would thrive with a family who has time to give him, or with an elderly person who is home frequently. Chilo's mom says he has some seasonal allergies for which he takes medication when needed. He has lived with other dogs and would do well in a home with children and/or dogs; he initially displays anxiety around new dogs he meets but with repeated introduction and exposure, this is overcome. Would you like to give Chilo the home and confidence he needs? Please contact us about this sweet guy.

About North Star Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

North Star Dog Rescue is a volunteer-run organization, driven by a passion for providing the second and even third chances that rescue affords an animal in need.

We strive to provide rescued animals with excellent veterinary care, and with the help of fosters and volunteers, we are able to be able to find them loving new homes in New England.

Find out more about us at northstardogrescue.org!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Since NSDR doesn't use a physical shelter, we don't have open visiting hours. Instead, approved adopters can visit with animals at the fosters' homes or a convenient meeting place.

We do, however, have meet-and-greet events once in a while. Keep up to date by checking our website at northstardogrescue.org and our facebook!

Our Adoption Process...

If you would like to adopt a dog or cat, please fill out our application, which can be found at http://northstardogrescue.org/adopt.html. Please be patient while we review your application. All dog and cat introductions will be done after your application is approved.

Adoption Fees:
The adoption fee includes transportation from out of state and pull fees from the original shelter, spay or neuter and vaccinations at one of our participating veterinary offices.

Cats: $85
Dogs: $275
Puppies: $300 (more shots are required)
*(Please note that the following fees are accurate in most cases but in some cases may change.)

Every penny we make in fees or fundraising goes back into the rescue. North Star Dog Rescue exists to help save animals that would otherwise be euthanized and to help them find the best possible forever homes.

If an adopter at any time wants or needs to give up their NSDR animal, we must be notified and will take the animal back.
