My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sunny is ready for a lap.
The name say it best. Sunny is a happy cuddle bear who is ready to bring a little Sunshine to your day.
We have fallen head over heels for this wonderful boy and know that you will too. One look into those soft brown eyes and you’re going to melt. Sunny has a wonderful demeanor and is about as easy going as it gets. He has a trick of sitting up on his back legs like a live teddy bear when he wants to get your attention. It’s so cute you can’t ignore him for a moment. He is extremely affectionate and wants to be right beside you on the couch or keeping you company around the house.
Sunny is a registered Shih tzu, Lhasa Apso mix. He has a super soft, hypo allergenic coat that is a pleasure to sit and pet. He was surrender to us with his papers and vet records by an owner who could no longer care for him due to her own health issues.
Sunny has a mild, affectionate and gentle personality. He is house and create trained. He walks great on a leash and LOVES to go for walks. He gets along well with other, mild manor dogs and is friendly to children and strangers alike.
Sunny weighs about 20 pounds. He is 12 years old. Sunny has been seen by our vet. He is healthy but does have a heart murmur. The murmur that is well managed with medication. He is still active and does not appear to suffer ill effects from the murmur. Our vet has graciously offered to provide Sunny’s new owner with pro bono exams to help ensure he is being monitored and receiving the medicine he needs. Sunny will be neutered and his teeth cleaned at our expense.
We do our best to place our fosters in the right type of home to fit their individual needs. With this goal in mind. We require a vet reference to be considered as a home for Sunny. We will not place him in a home with children under the age of 8 years old. His new family will need to commit to his regular grooming needs and to continuing with the medication he is on to ensure he stays healthy. Sunny is not suited to an apartment where he would need to climb stairs to go outside. His owner must be able to walk him regularly and see he gets the exercise he needs to be healthy and happy. Sunny would be fine with seniors or any other calm type of environment.
***** FCDF performs a home visit and inspection with the prospective animal. Out of sate/ Area are not possible. A vet reference is required. *****
