My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOB: February 15, 2014

Ying is an absolute cuddle-monster who loves to be around her people. She'll follow you from room to room and sit happily on or near you until you move. She loves attention and will drape herself over any computer keyboard if she feels she's not getting enough.

Ying is also very playful, and can entertain herself with household items. Her favourites include hair ties, bobby pins, bottle caps, ping pong balls, tweezers, and makeup brushes. She loves to keep a stash of her 'kills' hidden beneath mats and blankets, so be careful walking around! Sometimes Ying gets the zoomies, and runs up and down the hall, occasionally jumping up and spinning around mid-air. She is quite athletic!

Like any cat, Ying loves treats. She especially loves digging her treats out of a puzzle box, which keeps her stimulated and engaged.

Ying is extremely shy around people in the beginning, and is wary of strangers or guests to the house, preferring to stay hidden until they leave. In the early days, she will hiss a lot when you come near, but her hiss is worse than her bite, in this case. It will take some time to build her trust, but once you have she becomes the most affectionate, curious cat.

Ying's favourite food is 'people food'. She will try anything - even sugary things like jam or candy! She is sometimes so quiet, you don't notice her until she's running off with your Twizzler in her mouth.

Ying also has several different meows she uses to communicate. Her 'playtime' meow is different from her 'attention' meow or 'feed me' meow. She is very clear about her wants and needs.

Finally, Ying loves to be petted. She even loves having her belly rubbed, a rarity for a cat! Once the bedroom door opens in the morning, she's inside, rolling around for her pets. She flops around a lot, wanting every inch of her massaged. She particularly enjoys head and base of the tail scratches.
