My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

IDGSR WELCOMES MEADOW INTO THE SAFETY OF THE RESCUE!!!!

Meadow is a female Shepherd mix who is approx. 4-5 mos old. She found herself in a high kill shelter where an IDGSR volunteer noticed her and brought her into the rescue. She's now in a foster home and this is what her foster mom has to say about her:

" Meadow is a high energy girl and would do well with a like minded companion. She loves to play and needs plenty of exercise. She learns quickly and has learned to sit. She gets along well with other dogs, she does give chase to cats but it is to try to play with them and curiosity. She is very loving and thinks of herself as a lap-puppy. She does not like a crate but, she settles in after about 10 minutes. She is not crated often though, as someone is always home. She does like to sleep with myself or my teenage son even though she has a dog bed to sleep in. She has housetrained quickly and has only had a couple of accidents in the last 4 days. "

Adopting a puppy requires a very patient and dedicated owner, one who will also put the effort into educating their puppy to obedience and especially a German Shepherd pup who has high drive and will need a PHD in education. It is required for adoption that the dog go to group and personal classes so they will be extremely well socialized and friendly to all. This is ongoing training for months and years. Do not apply to adopt a German Shepherd if you are not willing, able or too much of a couch potato to work with these dogs. We are serious and want a successful adoption and dedicated GS people who will give this dog a great life.

If you would like to make Meadow a part of your family, please copy the link below and fill out an application and we will call you.
