My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mia is a very small collie, not to be confused with a sheltie, weighing in at about 42 pounds.

She came into Tri State Collie Rescue in December 2016 with Lyme disease and has been treated for that issue.  She has been spayed, is up to date on all of her shots, and current on heart worm medications.

Mia has been diagnosed with a condition called Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM).  DCM will require Mia to be on a prescription food called Hill’s Science Diet Cardiac HD and a supplement called Coenzyme Ten, also known as CoQ10.  Mia may need to be on a prescription medication in the future per our veterinarian, but for now, she is doing well. Mia takes medications well in a small amount of canned dog food or a small amount of lunch meat, but not too much lunch meat as this is not a good part of a heart healthy diet.

Mia is house trained, crate trained, rides well in the car, walks nicely on a leash, gets along well with her foster sisters and brother who are dogs, has not been cat tested, and eats in her crate since she is a bit food possessive.

Mia often sneaks onto the furniture when her foster mom is not looking and LOVES to cuddle.  She is a sweet dog and will sneak you a kiss from time to time.

She is a beautiful dog both inside and out and her pictures really don’t do her justice

Mia is being fostered in OH.
