My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cassidy
Born ~6/16, F, White-Mitted, Black Tabby & White Maine Coon

This is a lovely girl… her personality…the silkiness of her fur…the great length of her plume of a tail. I do think she has the longest tail of any cat I have ever fostered and she is still a baby and it is still growing.

She came from a family that had too many cats. Her fur is amazing. It has such a fine and soft texture I think it might get sticky and dirty easily. A bath transformed her. She was so surprised and good-natured about it. (Her family had named her “Scruffy”. “Why?” I asked. “Wait ’til you see her, “ they said.) Cassidy is growing from a funny little kitten into a great beauty. Her coat pattern is striking…a long- haired marbled pattern. She has a little double-pointed goatee under her chin which makes her look silly in some photos. Her gold eyes are very round and prominent.

Cassidy is a little starved for attention so she is very affectionate and eager for your contact. Though she did not like being held when she came in, she is learning to accept that kind of closeness very quickly. She is sweet and good-natured, full of play and fun. Having lived her short life around many other cats, she gets along with them easily. She does, however, get a little jealous when you pet another and not her. “Hey I am here,” she says as she pushes her head into your hand. This is not a problem; it just shows her need for love. She might also like to be an only cat for someone who is home a great deal to be with her.

She is a darling and will make someone a wonderful loving companion.

Right now, she is long-bodied and slender. She will fill out as the next couple years pass. Maine Coons grow into their third year. I think she will be quite a big girl. Growing into her tail perhaps.

Cassidy eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

Her foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.

Contact Harriet at (831) 336-2983 or toharrietjane@comcast.net if you have questions, or send an Adoption Application. If you are unable to reach Harriet by phone or email, email us at Info@purebredsplus.org.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interest!
