Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Pig is a dog, kid, and cat friendly boy who lives up to his name. Pig's birthday is October 7, 2012. Sometimes we forget he is a dog because of all the piggies snorts he makes! He is a big dude, weighing in at about 80+ pounds. Pig is being crate trained and is already potty trained, UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. Here is what one of his foster has to say about him: "Pig is the best. And I really mean that. He loves all people- from strangers to children. Random people have walked into my house, and he either gives them a happy glance and goes back to what he was doing or walks up for kisses. Speaking of: MUST love kisses. It’s his favorite way to show you how much he adores you. Every dog we’ve passed on our walks he either happily anticipated, or didn’t notice. I’ve never heard him bark! My sister heard him bark once (But I don’t know if I believe her!) But he does make the best noises- light grunts when I force him to wake up with me in morning. He’s extremely treat motivated, and can sit, give you his paw, anything for a treat. He loves his morning and evening walks! And gets extremely excited when he knows it’s coming. He usually walks for about 30 minutes until he tuckers out. But he’s currently on the road to fitness, so that could extend! So far, I would recommend him for a retired couple, or someone who’s stay at home and not looking for a running partner. Someone who prefers light exercise, Netflix, snacks and lots and lots of love." After one of our trainer's first assessed Pig she said this about him: "Hes great ! Gets a little excited and needs to learn how to meet dogs correctly - the more he's around dogs on walks etc. the easier it will get - he's super sweet - living with other dogs no problem - just dogs rushing to his face he won't like but give him a few weeks and it will be great. He just gets a little excited but doesn't even need a correction (if excitement was above a 5) just a little block (having him sit) and no tension on the leash and he'll get things quick. He's awesome - literally doesn't even pull on the leash at all." His most current foster says this about Pig: "What a lovable, silly, waddling, snorting boy our Piggie is!!! Pig is a sweet, low maintenance kind of guy. He just wants to be loved and fed ;). He loves everyone and is always happy to welcome visitors. Pig doesn't require a lot of exercise, but can definitely use it as he's a bit of a porker. Pig is easy on the leash and is responsive to corrections, very quickly. He can be leash reactive, but in a mild way, and is easily corrected to get over it. And given a proper introduction, he is totally fine with other dogs. He is currently living happily with two other dogs after showing them his little leash reaction when they first met. It was kinda like, 'hey! I'm a dog! Just so you know!' Pig is wonderful with kids, including the little tots. He just wants to kiss them and eat their leftovers. There have been times that Pig has exhibited separation anxiety, but it is not consistently present and I believe it is something he will only improve at with a stable forever home. This guy is really mellow, an easy keeper, and full of love. He would be a great first dog for any family."
