SEEKING FUREVER HOME FOR JAKE
Jake is a 4 ½ yr old neutered German Shepherd. He weighs in at 130 lbs. and currently on a weight loss/exercise plan to get to his ideal weight at 100 lbs. He walks well on a leash, does not show aggression towards other animals when walking and knows his basic commands. He is a sweet boy. He is a bit skittish due to lack of socialization over the last couple of years. Jake has been around the owners grandchildren without issues. We have not had him around children.
Jake was originally purchased with the idea of becoming an elderly ladys service dog. She and her husband were not able to accomplish this goal and are seeking a new home for Jake. They do not have the physical ability to walk Jake, he has been confined to a mobile home with little to no exercise for at least 2 yrs. And along with over-feeding has led to Jakes weight gain and some atrophy of the back leg muscles. He has been seen by a Vet this month, he is up-to-date on his vaccines and had x-rays to check out joints. The findings were slight hip dysplasia and some arthritis. The prognosis is good that with regular exercise and weight loss his muscles will get back to normal. He has had significant progress since he has been walking daily with exercise and socialization. I have been working with Jake since January to provide daily walks and assist the elderly couple while they search to rehome Jake.
Jake is a KING SIZE SWEETHEART! I would have taken him myself but my female GSD and him did not get along when we did a meet-n-greet. Jake needs to be the only pet in the home, he does not like cats either.
He has had significant progress since he has been walking daily with exercise and socialization.
Jake has a lot of LOVE to give.
