Courage's Story...
Courage is a handsome guy who enjoys being outside and enjoying the sunshine. He is a bit timid at first, but will eventually come forward for a scratch behind the ears. Due to his previous living condition, his arthritis has given him an uncomfortable limp when it comes to walks or exercise, but he enjoys every minute of it. He enjoys exploring the yard and the company of other dogs. Courage is looking for a patient and quiet family that can take him on short walks and teach him new things about life.

This pup is a puppy mill survivor and will require a special dose of patience and love - ask your SCHS staff member for more information about the unique needs of these dogs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Courage, a Ridgway Australian Shepherd/Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/Husky for sale in Ridgway, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/Husky dog from a breeder in Ridgway.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ridgway already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ridgway breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/Husky breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ridgway paves the way for another one to be saved.
