Anthony's Story...
I am a sweet, social, soft-hearted, and dare I say handsome, fellow going by the name of Anthony. I am a real charmer and a soulful guy. I like to consider myself an optimist, and I am hoping I’ll get a home really soon, because I have sooo much going for me. I get along with just about everybody: other dogs, cats, people, gentle name it. At just 9 months old I’ve certainly got more learning to do, but I know I’ll be top of my class. Besides, I am crate trained already, too. Did I mention I was quite handsome? Part German Shepherd and part whatever you ask me to be. I like to play, go adventuring, and be involved in your daily life—I’m a total people dog, hanging out, taking walks, lying at your feet chewing on my toys… just being by your side is what will make happiest. I’m pretty sure it will make you happy, too. 9 months old-60lbs. My adoption fee is $240 and includes neuter, microchip & registration, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Anthony, a Portland German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Portland, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
