My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Chanel! She really doesn't look like an elegant designer dog (befitting of the name) right now but when we got her she was so terribly matted and stinky (see BEFORE photo) that we had to give her a buzz cut. Underneath all that mess was this tiny little thing. Well folks, this is what a Lhasa Apso looks like without her clothes on. Can you believe it???!

Here's what we can tell you about this pooch. Her age is 1.5 years and she weighs 18 lb. although we're not sure if that's before or after the shave. We believe she came from a home where she was loved, but not trained. Chanel is making progress in her foster home towards being potty-trained, and although she has shown definite improvement, is not quite there yet. Her foster mom is teaching her "stay" and "come" commands (she already knows "sit"). Like most dogs, she seems to know that a key part in fulfilling her mission as a dog is that of being a good watch dog. No worries there - she's is a good one! Chanel currently sleeps in the crate at night and seems okay with it, but is probably secretly looking forward to a day when she can sleep in the same room, or even bed, with her new human. She loves being petted - be it tummy, ears, head, back, even her paws. Touch her and she's happy. Throw a ball her way and she's happy. Pay attention to her and she's happy.

Whoever adopts her should be committed to her continued training and, although hard to imagine right now, once her coat grows out she will require regular grooming. Chanel is a real doll and we're sure her new family will quickly fall in love with her.

Her adoption fee of $325 includes: vet exam, heartworm test (neg.), routine deworming, core vaccinations (rabies, distemper and bordetella), flea control, heartworm prevention, microchip and spay.
