Gorgeous, right?? You bet ya....
But don't base your application off of looks solely. While Dario's looks are not deceiving he is a young, strong, stubborn at times, stereotypical HUSKY!
This sweetie found himself in a high kill shelter in GA and we just knew we had to help him! Dario was infested with intestinal parasites and became extremely ill. He spent a week in ICU and it was a long road to recovery. Now that Dario has fully recovered we've learned the real him! He is a very unique husky that you don't find very often with his chocolate color and blue eyes. Dario is 1-2 years old but acts like a pup! We are requiring an adopter that has husky breed experience and has dealt with stereotypical Sibes or has done significant research. Dario will need a tall, secure fenced in yard or a safe place to stretch his legs and no small animals. Typical to the breed, he has a high prey drive. That also includes if he sees squirrels on a walk, he will pull like crazy to get to them. He does good on a leash otherwise, but you must be prepared for those types of encounters. Dario still jumps on people and sometimes lacks the ability to understand personal space, classic puppy behavior. He gets very excited when he meets someone new. Dario is dog friendly but would also do great as an only dog. If you're considering adopting Dario and have other dogs in the home, they must be playful and tolerant. Dario still plays like a puppy. Dario loves toys and is fascinated with himself in the mirror (who wouldn't be??) and is house and crate trained. Dario is crate trained and should be crated when left unattended. All in all, he's a classic young Siberian.
He is a special boy and we need to make sure we can find him the special home he deserves. Dario is neutered and up to date on all shots. He is being fostered in NC but can be transported to MD or NJ for an approved, compatible adopter.
