MAX(R)'s Story...
Say hello to Max! He is a stunning and very sweet 2 year old, 59 pound sweetheart. He has no idea what happened to his quiet and happy home. His owner had to move to Africa and the person Max was given to decided they did not want to care for him and dropped him off at the shelter on 02/10. He has been an inside dog and hopes to go to a new home who will let him remain a part of the family. Max will sit when told and is gentle on a leash. He is waiting in run 57 and his ID# is 591975. He is current on vaccines, neutered and will be micro-chipped when adopted. He has tested positive for heart worms and will need to be treated for those. Please speak to your vet for treatment options.

When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, the names are oftentimes made up by volunteers.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

MAX(R), a Marietta Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
