My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

In addition to the following profile for this dog, please first read the Adoption Information at http://www.shihtzurescuemn.org/adopt.html to understand the process, requirements and timeline for adoption. An adoption application can also be found in the Adoption Info section. If, after reading that information, you have any questions, please submit your question via e-mail and it will be answered. Please do not request a phone call. A personal phone call will only be made when an adoption application has been submitted and the foster parent wishes to consider the application. Thank you!

Maggie is an 8 year old playful girl. She came into rescue when her owner passed away unexpectedly. She is the sweetest girl who will steal your heart very quickly – she loves human attention and also loves playing with her foster parents’ own dogs. She’s also good with cats. She’s a very social girl, so she must be adopted by a family who has at least one other dog. She doesn’t play with toys, but she loves food/treats and comes when she’s called (especially if she’s getting a treat!). She gets so excited when it’s mealtime – she actually dances around with great anticipation! (Her foster parents think she’s actually smiling, too!)

Maggie sleeps on a bed in an exercise pen at night and is also in the enclosure when she is left alone in the house. Her foster parents are working with her on her house-training. She is doing very well with the reward-when-she-potties-outside system. She walks well on a leash; however, she enjoys spending much of her outside time in her foster parents’fenced-in yard playing with the other dogs.

Maggie is healthy, spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations and on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. Her adoption fee is $220.00 plus $16.01 sales tax for a total of $236.01. Her foster parents would like her adopter to live withinn75 miles of the Twin cities and hope they will come to the annual Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion held in September every year.

To meet Maggie, please complete an adoption application. Or you can also see her and the other dogs available for adoption from Shih Tzu Rescue of Minnesota by visiting with us from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Minnetonka Petco near Ridgedale the first Saturday of every month.
