My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

In addition to the following profile for this dog, please first read the Adoption Information at http://www.shihtzurescuemn.org/adopt.html to understand the process, requirements and timeline for adoption. An adoption application can also be found in the Adoption Info section. If, after reading that information, you have any questions, please submit your question via e-mail and it will be answered. Please do not request a phone call. A personal phone call will only be made when an adoption application has been submitted and the foster parent wishes to consider the application. Thank you!

Rosie is a sweet, senior girl who is looking for a loving home where she can contentedly grow older. She is approximately 11 years old and came into rescue when her owner passed away unexpectedly. She spent the first six years of her life in a puppy mill, and because of that, she is a shy girl and is more comfortable keeping to herself. She likes being petted and cuddling with her foster parents when they pick her up and have her in their laps. She loves treats and gets along well with other dogs and cats.

Rosie’s house training is a work in progress. She is good about doing her business outside if kept on a frequent schedule, or on a piddle pad. Hardwood floors and stairs are somewhat of a challenge for Rosie; she can manage a few steps, but her foster parents pick her up if there are several stairs to climb. So her adopters must be physically able to pick her up and carry her if necessary.

Rosie is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations and on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. Her adoption fee is $120.00 plus $8.73 sales tax for a total of $128.73. Her foster parents would like her adopter to live within 75 miles of the Twin cities and hope they will come to the annual Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion held in September every year.

To meet Rosie, please complete an adoption application. Or you can also see her and the other dogs available for adoption from Shih Tzu Rescue of Minnesota by visiting with us from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Minnetonka Petco near Ridgedale the first Saturday of every month.
