Our rescue will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express Saturday, April 1st from 12pm-4pm and Sunday, April 2nd from 12-3pm. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.
* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue
This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, April 1st from 12pm-4pm and Sunday, April 2nd from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.
Bagherra is a 6 month old Yorkie mix. She is on the shy side when she first meets people. She's a dog who melts in your arms once you pick her up. But she's not likely to be one that runs and jumps and declares her love for you initially. Bagherra though a puppy is wise beyond her age...She watches everyone and takes all the information in. But once you're hers, you are all hers! She would be a great one to go with a home that has a confident dog and owner. She needs someone that helps build her up. She is most comfortable in her home setting. She does ok in the yard as long as it's a defined area. Once she is outside of that area, she will need a home that is patient and works with her building her confidence around sights and sounds that often scare her.
Bagherra is an option to live with dogs as she is currently fostered with dogs and came into the rescue having always lived with dogs. Bagherra currently lives with cats. She is an option to go to a home that has cats as long as they don't pick on her! Bagherra is not a barker. She's a quiet girl. She could live in an apartment or condo setting.
Bagherra's foster describes her as super sweet and cuddly.
Bagherra is only an option for a home that has had a dog in the last 3 years (parents/relatives dog does not count, sorry!). If there are children they need to be over the age of 9.
**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)
**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
