* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted:

This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, April 1st from 12pm-4pm and Sunday, April 2nd from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.

Elvis is a 1 year old miniature Cattle Dog mix. He has all the beautiful coloring of a red merle. He was turned into our rescue when his family moved and was unable to take their dogs. We were able to take in Raider and Elvis. Now, we're looking to find their forever home. Elvis was initially shy. He doesn't run right up to you and declare his love. But if you ignore him long enough he will want your attention and he'll come a callin'.

Elvis has gone to the dog park. He had a blast playing with the big dogs as well as the little dogs. And in no time he was jumping up and greeting people and he looked like a totally different dog. He found his confidence. He will do so well if he's in a home that has a confident dog. He'll find himself. Elvis currently lives in a home with a cat. He is an option to live with a cat permanently.

Elvis is only an option for a home that has had a dog in the last 3 years (parents and roommates dogs do not count). Elvis is an option to go to a home with kids over the age of 9.

**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)

**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.

About Doggie Protective Services (DPS) - Palo Alto

About Our Rescue Group...

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.
