This cute little character is Winston, a most interesting 8-pound mix of what appears to possibly include Miniature Schnauzer, Chihuahua, and maybe Yorkshire Terrier too. His increasing level of stress and anxiety, which necessitated medication, brought him to our care in search of a baby- and toddler-free home. Winston’s character makes him somewhat aloof and independent at times, and he will seek out his people when he wants to. When he does, though, he can be very affectionate. This 7.5-year-old is a very clever guy, and comes with his own toy box that includes doggie puzzles that he enjoys playing. Winston’s ideal home will be with adults and older children only, and one that will appreciate and understand his personality. After just a day at his foster home, he already appeared much more relaxed in the adult-only environment as he made himself comfortable on his foster mom’s lap. He wanted to join in on playtime with the other little dog and is also compatible with the cat, so would probably do equally well either on his own or sharing a home with another small pet. Winston is sure to continue to blossom in an environment that is suitable to his slightly quirky yet very endearing temperament.
