My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This cocker boy is a Special Needs dog who deserves a good life. He is now in a great foster home in Virginia where he will be loved and cared for until he can find a home.

Hi there,

My name is Lucky and my dream come true is to find a loving home. I am a reddish blonde 11 to 12 year old cocker boy. I was rescued out of a NC shelter by a caring, good - hearted person who adopted me and didn't want me to be alone and overlooked for adoption. He got busy with other things, really didn't have time to spend with me and just couldn't take care of my vet needs. He finally took me to this local vet where the CCR rescue owner just happens to get her dogs vet care done. After some discussion, she agreed to take me into rescue.

At my vet evaluation, they found that that my ears have been badly neglected for quite some time. I am now deaf due to my ears being infected over many years of someone not caring for them properly. I have also suffered some injury to my back that has caused me to have IVD - Disc disease that makes it so that my rear legs take a bit of time to get moving and then I do ok....my foster mom says I do this very cute shuffle thing to get me going. I am heartworm negative, neutered and I've had a much needed dental done at the rescue to sew up a big hole in my jaw. I also lost 10 teeth. My foster mom has been great and I am doing really well, but I sure would like to find a home of my own. She has helped me to gain some much needed weight, so now I look and feel a lot better. She tells me that I am a real sweet guy, easy going, I love to snuggle on the couch and I get along with everyone. Please don't overlook me just because I am older and have some health issues that could have been prevented. Please give me a 2nd chance to be your new best friend, wonderful companion and help me to have a bright future in a home where I will be appreciated, taken care of and very loved.

My adoption fee is $100.

If you are interested in adopting this senior cocker boy, please send an email message to: larrydonnacarp@aol.com for an adoption application. Our adoption fee for this boy is $100, which includes all of the care and vetting needs for this dog.
