Lucy's Story...
Lucy is a very sweet and lovey kitty with striking black markings, who will happily follow her human around for attention. She is a bit on the shy side at first, so she will need a space to call her own while she gets used to a new home. It won't take her long to get settled in though and she will come running to you whenever she senses your presence. Lucy is very playful and loves to chase toys. We haven't seen her around other cats yet, but have no reason to think she wouldn't do well with them. She is cautious with kids and dogs, but as long as they give her plenty of space while she gets adjusted, there shouldn't be an issue. Lucy has excellent litter box skills. You can meet Lucy at Petsmart in Manhattan!

All kitties go to their new owners spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and are negative for FIV/FeLV. The adoption fee is $75. If you are interested in adoption or have any questions, please contact

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Manhattan Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Manhattan, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Manhattan.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Manhattan already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Manhattan breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Manhattan paves the way for another one to be saved.
