My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BEFORE YOU READ PLEASE NOTE CHIEF IS BEING FOSTERED IN POLK CITY, FLORIDA ZIP CODE 33868

Hi, my name is Chief,

I am approximately 2 years old.

The rescue who is helping find me a home, says that I have been through some emotional trauma, after being abandoned, and living outside for a year, and need to find a patient adopter or family who understands that there will be a brief adjustment period after being rehomed, because it will take time to adjust to a new environment. She says once I get comfortable in my new home, that I will be an extremly loving and loyal dog to my new family! I am searching for someone who can help give me the forever home that I am searching for. I have had to spend a lot of time outside, and even sleep outside, and although I enjoy being outside sometimes, I wish I could spend more time inside and cuddle up with some nice humans or a comfy doggy bed. My foster Mom cares about me and is trying to place ads up to find me my forever home, so that I don't end up in a shelter.

I love children, and women. It will take me just a few visits to get to love men and strangers, and I might bark when I first meet them because I have to get to know them and learn to trust them first! But by the time we have gotten to know each other a few times, I will end up being very loving to them.

I eat dry natural food with some canned food or cooked food on top and I LOVE that. My foster mommy puts olive oil on the food sometimes and oh by YUM I love when she does that. She even cooks ground beef sometimes and sprinkles some on top and boy oh BOY do I love when she does that!

I have a brother named Chief, but he is not fully house trained so I don't know if we can stay together. My foster Mommy says she thinks I will do okay being separated from my brother, as long as I go to a house where I get a LOT of love and attention. If someone wanted to adopt both of us, that would be okay too.

Thank you for reading my profile, Lots of LOVE to you!

Love, Charming.

PS- I am located in Polk City, which is near Lakeland. I know that may be a bit far of a drive, but I would love to meet you to see if I can find my forever home.

PPS- To adopt me please call Emily at 727-478-5579 and you can text her too. You can email her at namastemle@gmail.com and she is doing interviews on my behalf. Thanks!

Hi my name is Chief. I am approximately two months old. My first owner dumped me on the side of the road, and my second owners didn't take me when they moved out. Their family didn't want to keep me but he felt bad for me and didn't want to surrender me to a shelter, they have let me and my brother Charming live outside in the backyard.

Life has been a little rough, as living outside in Florida has been a bit rough, and I am really hoping that I can find a home to live inside of and find a family of my own who loves me. I am extremely intelligent and sweet, but no one ever took the time to house train me OR fix me, so sometimes I mark my territory inside the house because I don't realize it is a bad behavior, and so I have had to live outside for the past two years as a result of this. I have NOT been happy living outside, but I do love my brother and at least he's kept me company.

I LOVE people, and I am a little dominant so I'm not sure how I would do with other dogs. I kind of like to be king of my castle, but I do get along well with my brother. I would like to stay with him but we were told that we may have to be separated in order to find good forever homes that will adopt us--and even though I would really miss him, I think I would be okay with that, as long as I got a lot of attention :)

I need to find a family or person who wants to adopt a rescue dog like me, and can help train me and make me a better dog :) I am a sweet dog deep down. I would need a patient adopter who understands I have been through a lot, and wants to help give me a forever home . I hope I can find my forever family who will fall in love with me and want to help me out of this tough situation I am in. I have been told that I may end up in a shelter if I can't find a home soon.

Please pick me!

Love, Chief

PS--I am currently in Polk City, Florida which is near Lakeland. I know it's a little bit of a drive, but please come meet me and see if we can be best buds forever.

PPS- To talk about adopting me, please call or text my foster Mommy Emily at 727-478-5579 or email her at namastemle@gmail.com Thanks!
