Hi my name is Chief. My first owner dumped me on the side of the road, and a nice lady adopted me a couple of years ago. Unfortunately the nice lady got a divorce from her husband and didn't take me when she moved out--so I was left behind in the husband's home. He wasn't an animal person and also didn't have time for me, but he felt bad for me and didn't want to surrender me to a shelter. So he let me and my brother Charming live outside of his house in the backyard.

Life has been a little rough, as living outside in Florida has been a bit rough, and I am really hoping that I can find a home to live inside of and find a family of my own who loves me. I am extremely intelligent and sweet, but no one ever took the time to house train me OR fix me, so sometimes I mark my territory inside the house because I don't realize it is a bad behavior, and so I have had to live outside for the past two years as a result of this. I have NOT been happy living outside, but I do love my brother and at least he's kept me company.

Then my foster mommy came along, and she is SO good to me and has been letting me sleep inside so I don't have to spend all of my time outside and I have been so relieved :) I like my foster Mommy, she seems to care about me and she is nice. She isn't home a lot, but she lets me sleep inside the laundry room at night and I just LOVE that. I sleep on a nice dog bed, and she says that she would be willing to work with my new adopters to help train me so I can be inside like a normal dog :) She can't keep me because she already has a lot of animals of her own, and she works a lot and just doesn't have the time or energy to spend with me. She is wililng to help pay for some of the cost to have me fixed, also, yippee!

I LOVE people, and I am a little dominant so I'm not sure how I would do with other dogs. I kind of like to be king of my castle, but I do get along well with my brother. I would like to stay with him but we were told that we may have to be separated in order to find good forever homes that will adopt us--and even though I would really miss him, I think I would be okay with that, as long as I got a lot of attention :)

I LOVE taking walks. I am special needs because I am not yet fixed and I mark inside sometimes. MY foster Mommy says I have NEVER been trained, and that it's not my fault, and I think she's right--that I could be trained and learn to listen because I am VERY VERY SMART!! I love kids, and humans in general. Cats don't bother me either way, I'm not even sure what planet they are from, but they don't really phase me either way.

I love the outdoors, and my foster Mommy says if I can find the right adopters who will help work with me that she will help them and work with them to help train me, and even help with finances to get me fixed. My foster Mommy said that I have learned so much in the past few months. I have learned how to behave better inside of a house, and when I take treats, she taught me the word "Nice" so now when she gives me a treat, I am being more gentle with her hands. She says I learned so quickly !

I am very lonely and hope I get adopted soon. I hope I can find my forever family who will fall in love with me and want to help me out of this tough situation I am in.

Please pick me!

Love, Chief

PS--I am currently in Polk City, Florida which is near Lakeland. I know it's a little bit of a drive, but please come meet me and see if we can be best buds forever.
