Silenus's Story...
This guy is a total stud! Sadly, Silenus was abandoned at a vet's office at only 5 days old because his mother was too sick to nurse. Luckily for Silenus, Friends of Rescue had a nursing mother that took him in as one of her own along with Silenus's siblings! Silenus LOVES people and always has plenty of tail wags to go around. He is very people oriented. Silenus is going to make an amazing, happy go lucky, loving family member. His lineage is unknown, but we are guessing he is perhaps a boxer/pointer mix perhaps even a little hound and lab. Just look at his adorable snout freckles! We actually have a photo of his mother and she appears to be a boxer/pit mix. Silenus will soon be ready to wag his tail with his new family by his side.

Silenus will be age appropriate vetted including microchip & neuter upon adoption. He is being fostered in Huntsville, Alabama but can be transported to surrounding and northern states to the right home. He will be ready for local adoption on February 27th and cleared to travel to northern states on March 10th. If interested in Silenus please fill out an application at or email with any questions. The application is not binding, it is simply how we start the conversation.  Silenus looks forward to meeting his FORever family!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Silenus, a Hagerstown Boxer/Pointer puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer/Pointer for sale in Hagerstown, or seeking a Boxer/Pointer puppy from a breeder in Hagerstown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hagerstown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hagerstown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer/Pointer breeders who help with Boxer/Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hagerstown paves the way for another one to be saved.
