My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Brendan and Lainie are one of several pairs of lovebirds that we have at the shelter. They are very happy now that they have each other, but their life did not start out happy at all!
Brendan and Lainie were rescued from a hoarder and Brendan came straight to Good Mews with several other cats, and unfortunately, Lainie went to a vet’s office with another group of cats. Lainie had ear mites and her teeth were in horrible shape, and for reasons unknown to us, she was not treated for these things at the vet’s office. Lainie was there for a few months, and because she was in such severe pain, she lost all trust in humans.
Back at Good Mews, Brendan had his own health issues, and lucky for him, he was being treated. He had to have all his teeth removed, but he has no problem at all eating, as you can see from his robust figure!
When room was finally available, Good Mews was able to take Lainie and the other cats from the hoarding case that were at the vet’s office. Lainie was finally able to receive the vet treatment she deserved!! She was still very wary of us humans so we had a lot of work ahead of us. But we did not give up on this sweet girl. We continue to work with her and show her how much we love her and she continues to progress everyday!
Brendan is probably the biggest couch potato you will ever meet! He likes to lounge around on a cat tree all day, and then he will get up, have a few bites of food, sips of water, stroll around and say hi to his kitty pals, then gaze out the window with Lainie. In the afternoon it will be time for his daily exercise and he will do a couple fast laps around the shelter, then back to his cat tree to lounge.
Brendan and Lainie have forged a very special bond and they must be adopted together. They will require a patient home that will give them time to acclimate at their pace.
If you think you are the right home for this darling pair, come by and meet them!
