This handsome boy's name is Tito! He is a 2 year old Boerboel that is loving life in his new foster home. His foster mom says that he is very happy, easy going, affectionate, and has lots of energy. Tito is one of the smartest dogs that we have ever had. He is highly trainable, but he will need to have firm, experienced owners that will give him the consistency he needs. We have not had him for very long, and he is just about perfected housebreaking Tito has already learned how to use a doggie door when he needs to go outside. We are working on basic obedience, leash skills, and crate training, but he should catch on quickly because he is so intelligent. Sometimes he has trouble containing his excitement when he greets people, but we are working on that as well. He gets along great with large dogs and cats, but has not been tested with smaller dogs just yet. Tito needs a third cherry eye surgery but will be introduced to other animals once its healed. Due to his energy level, size, and playfulness, Tito needs a home with older children. He is also heart worm positive, so he will need to continue his heart worm treatment in his new home. We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation. The adoption app is available on our website (www.bullpenrescue.org) under the 'work with us' tab. If you choose not to fill out an application before inquiring about a particular dog, please briefly tell us about yourself, family, and lifestyle since this will help us determine if the dog you’re interested in is a good match.
Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a “perfect placement” so we know that they will not be failed again.
